Safar is Beirut’s bilingual and biannual independent visual and design culture magazine, providing a window into cultural production in the Middle East. Safar invites designers, writers, thinkers and other creatives to respond to a set theme for each issue.
For Issue 3, on the theme of 'Obsessions' I developed a series of 4 visuals titled 'Insecurity Checkpoint, inspired by Grindr conversations and pop music. The end result aims to explore the feeling of anxiety and alienation, as well as the constant need for validation experienced by those addicted to the dating app.
